Ann Curry

Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist who is a reporter for more than 45 years focusing on the people suffering from war zones and natural disasters. Curry has written about the wars in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo and the Central African Republic. Ann Curry, (born November 19 1956 Agana American journalist and TV anchor and news reporter. She was best known for her work as a correspondent for the Today show, a news morning show that was telecast by the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry is renowned for her coverage of catastrophes caused by natural or human causes, especially in countries affected by war. Curry's maternal grandmother is Japanese and her father is an American Navy Sailor. Their parents got acquainted while their father was in Japan shortly after World War II. Because of her father's work in the military that they had to move around a lot. Curry completed her high school in Ashland Oregon. Curry graduated in 1978, with A Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Oregon. The diversity of her experiences and the experiences she had during her growing up probably influenced her communication style when it comes to international issues. Curry was not able to enroll in a school for in more than two years since her family moved often. She attended schools in the cities of San Diego, Alameda Oregon, and Virginia. Her final graduation was at the age of 22 from Ashland High School. In Medford, she started her broadcasting career as an KTVL Channel 10 intern. When she was 22, she became the station's very the first newscaster female. In the following years, she moved into the role of anchor reporter and anchor for KGW which is an NBC affiliate station located in Portland. After four years, she moved into Los Angeles as a reporter for KCBS TV. It was during her association with the channel for six years that she received two Emmy Awards.
